ExpoMina Peru 2018
September 12 - September 15
Peru is the gem of the Latin American mining industry and is an early must market for all mining suppliers to enter. The government is positive about using mining to grow the economy however there is local social resistance due to a lack of education of the impacts of mining. Canada has had a 50 year presence in the Peru mining industry and there is a great respect for the quality of the products and services and also the way Canadians do business. The mines are generally very open to new technologies however it’s critical to have a local presence. A note of caution to make sure it’s the right partner to avoid legal complications later.
ExpoMina is a quality event that offers lots of buyer exposure. It’s also where you can engage in the dating process to find your business partner. ExpoMina takes place every two years in Lima. It alternates with Perumin which is held in odd years in Arequipa. Attendance will include about 850 exhibitors and 30000 visitors.
There is a strong show floor buzz of mining buyers with a mix of hands on and corporate management. Peru and the ExpoMina event focus more on underground mining but also carry exposure into open pit mining. ExpoMina Peru is accompanied by forums on topics such as prospects in mining, investments, logistics, communications and environmental responsibility.
For three days the event will gather a significant number of entrepreneurs and suppliers in the mining sector. It will be an excellent opportunity to establish and strengthen business relationships, as well as to explore and finalize new business. The exhibition of heavy machinery of renowned brands and state-of-the-art products will be one of its main attractions.
